Search Steps

The steps below are an example of one way to search for properties using the Hawaii Information Service Property and Information Search. If you are having trouble using the system, you may want to print this page and follow these steps to familiarize yourself with the process. Note that this is only one way to use the system, but it will provide you with an idea of your choices. You may also want to review the various questions in the Search Help and FAQ.

Step 1	At the Property & Info Search home page, put your mouse cursor over the island at the lowest point of the map (the Island of Hawaii), and click.
Step 2	When the search results appear, you will be viewing a map of the Island of Hawaii. At the left of the screen you will see a table which displays the total number of listings for the Island of Hawaii in each property category. Put your mouse cursor over the hyperlink for Residential properties (located in the table at the left of the screen) and click.
Step 3	When the search results appear, you will be viewing the same map of the Island of Hawaii, but the table will now show only the total number of listings for residential properties. Scroll down the page and choose Features from the Residential Property Features list. Define any set of features, or leave the defaults as they appear. Click the "Search Now" button.
Step 4	Your search results will display a list of Residential properties which meet the specifications you defined in Step 3, for the entire Island of Hawaii. You can now click on any specific property of interest, or go back and specify a particular area (zone) on the Island of Hawaii. To specify a particular area, click Refine your search at the top of the screen (to the right of the Hawaii Information logo), and follow Steps 5 and 6 below.
Step 5	Refining this search: When you click to refine your search, the page showing the Island of Hawaii and the Residential Property Features options will appear again. Move your mouse cursor over a specific area on the map (a "zone") and click.
Step 6	Your search results will display a map with the Zone you chose "highlighted" -- in other words, all of the other zones will appear "greyed-out". You will need to re-define the property features again and submit your search.

	To start a new search at any time, click the "Start a New Search" link at the top of the page.
