Subject: Printing blank pages from an  MLS Full listing......

Aloha everyone,
My name is Mark Barbanell and I'm with Summers Realty on Kauai.  I
have noticed a strange occurance at times when printing from a full listing
with all four quadrants in the display selected. On some of the listings
when I try to print it only a blank page with thin lines on running from top
to bottom of the page gets printed. This happens only on select listings and
if either "print " only as laid out on the screen" or "print only the
selected frame" are selected. Can anyone explain if this is a problem on my
end or with the input of the data on the server end?

Reply to Mark Barbanell -

It sounds like the last frame that was "selected" was the WebREsearch
toolbar.  When it prints, it creates long vertical lines on the paper.

Perhaps you'll have more success if you point your mouse on the property
frame and then RIGHT click.  You'll see a menu pop-up.  Click on PRINT from
this mini-menu.  This will automatically print only the frame that the mouse
was over at the time the menu was requested.

Thank you for your observation!

Hi Mark:

This is Eileen Winters with Vision Properties in Kapaa.  I have had problems
printing from the icon for the print command.  Although, it occasionally
does happen still, I have fewer problems by putting my cursor in the middle
of the listing I want to print.  Right click on your mouse.  Click on Select
All.  Right click on your mouse again and click print.  The entire listing
should print.

Recently I have had the problem you are this way also - but not as often.  I
do think there is a glitch in there system from time to time - especially
when they are "updating" the system.

Try this and see if it helps.

Mark, I think the right click - print is the best way to print as I have had
problems with either the file print and toolbar print. Have not tried
Eileen's way although I do that right click select all and paste into an
email to a client of the search.
Have you tried that, its cool. Only problem is that your client better have
a decent computer or email postoffice that can handle a lot of photos. Mac
users cant get it that way though.

Sorry I kind of went off the subject!

Well, we're off to a wonderful start!

I'm very pleased with the input from each of you - and on a Sunday, too!

Please allow me to remind you about three important items when sending a new
message and replying to a digest or message...

1.  Please use plain text to enable all users to view your message without
extraneous html "tags".

2.  When replying to a message, please highlight the subject and replace it
with one that makes more sense to the reader... "RE: Digest # 9" isn't very
descriptive!

3.  Also when replying, please highlight and delete the majority of the
original message - to avoid repeating the entire digest in subsequent
messages.  (You haven't experienced this, as I have been deleting the
extraneous text.)

Mahalo, once again, for your participation!

I DON'T KNOW HOW OR WHY I RECEIVED THIS, BUT IT OBVIOUSLY

---- HIStalk List Administrator's Comments ----

Harold,  You are receiving these messages (eavesdropping on
a conversation about printing from WebREsearch) because you
are a subscriber to the service.  Any message sent to
mailto:HIStalk@InternetCrusade.com will go to the 700+
users with e-mail addresses on record.

It is our hope that by sharing experiences and asking
questions of your fellow users that each person will
discover something that they didn't know - or will find a
new way to use the software.

If instead you'd like to NOT receive the posts of the other
users, you may elect to remove yourself from this list by
sending a message to mailto:Webmaster@HawaiiInformation.com
requesting that your e-mail address be removed.

Because this is one way your MLS/Public Record provider
intends to communicate with the users, we'd be saddened to
see you leave!

Enjoy the dialog and feel free to contribute!

Aloha Eileen,
Mahalo for the tip and also to the list administrator for their reply
also I sure am enjoying the ease of use of the mls system on the internet.
All in all it's very convenient and allows me to work out of my home much
easier. Of course having the tmk hard printed map book helps a bit too :-)

Subject: What is a List Server?

Aloha Users of REsearch and WebREsearch!

Thie HIStalk ListServ is a communications device that allows each of you to
share your experiences with the system - your suggestions for improvement,
your hints and shortcuts and your difficulties.  It is also a way that
Hawaii Information Service can communicate with all of the users.

Feel free to eavesdrop on the conversation.  Every e-mail sent to you is an
opportunity to learn something new.  You need not respond unless you have
something to add to the discussion.

I have changed the frequency of the digest so it should arrive just twice
each day.  This will give you an opportunity to respond to someone's morning
question, and allow the questioner to receive an answer the same day - in
the afternoon.  If you have any suggestions for improving the list, please
let me know.

REMEMBER:  Hitting "REPLY" sends the entire message, plus what you add, to
the entire list.  Please change the subject to something more descriptive,
and remove the portions of the prior message that are not part of the
discussion to which you are contributing.

Thanks!

Here is a tip for successful OWNER searches:

Use the asterisk between the last and first names.  While the comma may be
successful, you may not get a complete answer.

----------------------------
TRY THIS SEARCH:
Request a feature: OWNER campbell, debra

This will bring up a single spellcheck choice.  Choose it, and you will see
one property owned by Debra Campbell.

------------------------------------
NOW TRY THIS SEARCH:
Request a feature: OWNER campbell*debra

This will bring up two choices in the spellcheck.  Choose them both, and you
will see that Debra actually owns two properties.

Subject: TIP: OWNER vs GRANTEE

Do you ever need to find ALL of the assets of an individual?

Here is a tip for doing thorough asset searches:  Use the GRANTEE field
instead of the OWNER field.

----------------------------
TRY THIS SEARCH:
Request a feature: OWNER Horita*Keith

This will bring up a spellcheck with two choices.  Choose them both and
complete the search.  Look for the one whose tax bill goes to 1303 Moelola
Place... he's the one we're looking for.  You'll find that he owns THREE
properties.

Taxkey                   Tax Addr
1-3-7-18-111       1303 MOELOLOA PLACE, HONOLULU, HI 96819 USA
1-9-8-60-13-52    1303 MOELOLA PLACE, HONOLULU, HI 96819 USA
1-9-8-60-13-60    1303 MOELOLA PLACE, HONOLULU, HI 96819 USA

-------------------------------------
NOW TRY THIS SEARCH:
Request a feature: GRANTEE Horita*Keith

This will bring up a spellcheck with two choices also.  Grab them both.
Now, let's see what he owns...

Taxkey                   Tax Addr
1-9-8-60-13-60     1303 MOELOLA PLACE, HONOLULU, HI 96819 USA
1-9-8-60-13-52     1303 MOELOLA PLACE, HONOLULU, HI 96819 USA
1-3-7-18-111        1303 MOELOLOA PLACE, HONOLULU, HI 96819 USA
1-1-1-48-30          1303 MOELOLA PLACE, HONOLULU, HI 96819 USA
1-1-1-48-31          1303 MOELOLA PL, HONOLULU, HI 96819 USA

Where did the other two properties come from?  He is a joint owner, and the
other person is showing as the owner.

Use GRANTEE to search when you have to find all of the properties a person
is associated with.
